Ushuaia

After over a week of mainly big cities I am glad to get back to the mountains and small villages for my last 10 day stretch. The flight into Ushuaia was marvelous with all the snow capped mountains and dramatic coast line. Walking out of the airport and being able to inhale the cool clean air along with the beautiful views that surrounded me on every side was just what I needed. I'm excited to explore this area more extensively. It was also so nice that Colby (http://www.theholmesargentina.com/) picked me up from the airport last night so I could spend the night at their place before I continued on this morning to Ushuaia.

Most impressive to see the BEAUTIFUL pictures of "falls" you have seen on your travels. Everytime I check in on you I see these spectacular photos! Enjoy your time left. You are in our prayers.

Just getting caught up on your blog! Bee stings?!?! Malcom told me about it on Sunday... ouch... glad you're alright!
Hahaha! Your greeting dilemma... you would not have survived in Switz... we had to kiss 3 times! You're right to go for the cheek to cheek with the kissing noise... that's what we always did.
Magnificent pics! Jealous that you got to see the Sawatsky's... their place looks beautiful! Can't believe you'll be home in a couple of weeks! Can't wait!

hey, so question: my friend marco needs to go to Vancouver, BC this weekend (friday) and he was wondering if you knew of any hostels or anything of sort, also, if you knew of any hot spots to see. and if you could TRY to let me know by THursday, that'd be great! 'cause we don't work on Friday! Thanks!!

Yes Shauna, I do not enjoy being in the presence of wild snakes that look like they want inject me with some type of poisonous neurotoxic venom. Does that make me a wimp, most likely. What can I do. Sarah, I have to say you are asking the wrong person for a pronunciation of a word. I just say it as it looks in English. And Ushuaia as the city's slogan say is "the end of the world". or to be more semi factual it is the southernmost city in the world or something like that. And I believe it because it is cold here.

hhhmmm.. new zealand was a lot colder than we thought it was going to be.... so I can sympathize!! haha. and whatever jon. no snake in PEI has that "neuro" crap that you were talking about. YOu don't even like snakes in general!! haha

You mean after all this time in SA and you can't at least pronounce the locations of where your at. .whats with that? You should be a natural when it comes to spanish now. :)

Sarah, you're invited to come to South America and demonstrate for us all how to learn a language in 3 months or less :)

SMS, Thankfully I am well equipted for the coldness since I have been in the Andies a few times and have been picking up a few gifts from the locals. (sorry for whoever gets a used gift when I get home). Sarah, I cant even pronounce stuff in English and I have been with that for 23 years. I am however still embarassed that I have not done better with my spanish, but I can travel confidently with the amount I know.

Cary and Shannon, if you want to pay my way down, I will take you up on your offer. :) I will admit though, that I have been studying french for 13 years and still can't speak it as well as I should be able to. There is probably no way I could learn spanish in three months. SO your off the hook Jon. And you know more spanish then I do, so thats what counts.
