Koh Tao

After a long day of travel yesterday (moto, bus, bus, boarder, bus, taxi, overnight train, minivan, boat, walk, pickup) I finally arrived in Koh Tao, Thailand this morning. I am going to chill on this wonderful little Island for a few days to get my diving certificate (PADI) and hopefully get a few great dives over the time I am going to spend here. Over these days I am going to have to try to plan the remainder of my trip whether I will be a beach bum around Indonesia (and possibly the Philippines) or hit up a flight to Nepal in the Himalayas and do some real trekking (Annapurna circuit and Everest base camp). Right now I am leaning toward going to Nepal, however with heading to the Himalayas there are a lot of logistics that will have to be work out (Visas, flights, trekking permits and tourist permits if I want to cross into Tibet).

We looked up the island where you are now and it is very nice. You sure have seen some amazing country. Your new nephew is very sweet. See you soon. Love and prayers Mom and Dad

Scuba is going well. Lots of fun. The water is amazingly clear here with lots of aquatic life. I have one more classroom session then hope to get 4-6 more dives before I move on. Right now I have planned a quick jaunt south before I head North to finish off my travels(Thought that wording may reassure Mom despite still having about 40 days left to my wanderings).

Its been a little while since I've left a comment, but I've been checking this often. It sounds like your having a good time. Diving out there must be a lot of fun. I bet the water is much nicer over there then it is around the Island.

Glad to hear you finally got your PADI! Now we can scuba together... although I'm sure Thialand will be much more exciting than the beaches at home!
Take care Jon!
P.S. Had the shower for Kyler last night... he's terribly cute even though he's a Barrett!!!
